All-original shows hit New London this weekend
by Ken Strobel
If you need a break from cover tunes, Friday night make a beeline for New London, where two clubs - The El 'n' Gee Club and the Bank Street Cafe - host top-notch all-original shows.
At the El 'n' Gee, it's a CD release party for Revelaria. Though the group's new four-song EP "Music Never Dies" is its third release, it's the first with new lead singer Josh Pomerenke.
It's also a prelude to a new full length album scheduled for release later this year.
The Montville-based band reformed with Pomerenke on vocals after losing its original lead singer, Paul Jones. They've been building a strong following ever since, particularly at the Gee, where they play frequently.
The first 100 fans through the door will receive a copy of the new CD, a catchy collection of Dave Matthews-esque power pop tunes showcasing some tight musicianship and Pomerenke's smooth strong vocals.
Grey Cell Green and Bi Janus will open Friday's show. For more information, call 437-3800 or visit www.el-n-gee.com on the Internet. |
